Product Designer | Remote
Location: Remote, US, Canada or UK
Department: Product & Technology
Squad: Agentic MGA
About the role
Accelerant is looking for a Product Designer to join our Agentic MGA squad.
This role reaches further into product than a typical design position. We’re looking for someone who enjoys working upstream, helping decide what is worth building, how it should work and how we know whether it has actually solved the problem.
You won’t be waiting for a finished specification or being handed something to make presentable. You’ll work alongside Product and Engineering while the problem is still being understood, speaking directly with users, shaping product direction and turning ideas into working experiences quickly.
This is also a genuinely AI-native design role.
Rather than adding AI onto existing interfaces, we’re designing experiences where AI agents can perform meaningful parts of a workflow while people review, correct and authorise their work.
That creates a different type of design problem: deciding what the agent should handle, what still requires human judgement, how confidence and reasoning should be communicated, and how users remain in control.
The team
You’ll join Agentic MGA, the squad building technology that supports risk selection before an insurance policy is bound.
The product serves two key audiences: brokers submitting risk and underwriters assessing it.
Between them sits an increasingly agentic workflow that can help gather information, interpret documents, surface relevant data, identify missing information and prepare work for human review.
There is a huge amount of information available across submissions, pricing, appetite, claims, portfolio data and previous outcomes.
Your job is not simply to put that information on a screen. It is to decide what matters at each moment and make complex decisions easier to understand.
We are currently building two versions of the experience in parallel so we can put working products in front of users quickly, learn from them and use that evidence to shape the longer-term product.
What you’ll do
Partner closely with Product and Engineering to frame problems, define scope and decide what is worth building
Work directly with brokers and underwriters to understand how they work, what they are deciding and where existing systems create friction
Design broker and underwriter workflows across submission, review, decision-making and state changes
Turn dense submission and risk data into clear, usable professional experiences
Define the division of labour between AI agents and people
Design how AI communicates confidence, reasoning, uncertainty and required human action
Use AI coding and prototyping tools to create working versions of ideas, not just static mock-ups
Test early with real users and iterate based on behaviour, feedback and product outcomes
Contribute to an AI-native design system covering patterns, components, rules and interaction models
